Some Little Thoughts
by Raymonde Sacklyn
Who Calls My Name ?
Who calls my name?
That voice: I hear it!
Cacophonous sound.
Does it call for me?
If not, who is to blame
For that plaintive refrain?
Who calls my name?
Again! I hear that voice call.
Once more the same.
From where does that sound come?
Who plays this game?
May I learn his name?
Perhaps, nobody calls my name.
Do I perceive that which is not?
Man oftimes sees himself
The centre of it, all.
Life’s troubles, he lovingly will proclaim,
Win and lose: The enigmatic game.
The unity of life and death:
Lovingly still ... and always will.
Does death call my name?
Is life, the name of death’s bird of prey,
Which comes, patient-bent, to claim
His charge, demanded in the coin – Heaven-sent?
