Some Little Thoughts

On  Mother's  Day

When winters winds are all blown out
And spring returns, once more,
And through the sod, young green shoots appear,
And trees display green coats once more,
And birds chirp and rabbits frolic,
And love is in the air,
Do I recall
What I do owe
To my dear mother
Who made me so.

And so I kiss you,
One more time:
Mother mine.

Come! Partake this day with me,
Your child who, years before,
Came into this world
By your unconquerable love,
During the spring of your young life.
Let me, on this day, take your hand
And be your guide; gently to kiss your cheek:
I sing your praises,
One more time,
Mother mine.

This is your spring day,
So, eat and drink loves sweetest wine,
Dearest, mother mine.
