Some Little Thoughts

Life's Garden

A bee flew by in search of nectar;
A fox looked up as it flew by;
A bird sat on the bough of a tree;
And, I wondered what it was like to fly.

Life's full of puzzles
Knowledge of which, we have not,
But, sadly, life's lessons oft forgot.

Life's full of things, one may never know:
Laws; rules; and, regulations;
And restrictions due to nature's need
Makes living trying for man's seed.

The more one learns,
The more one knows,
That life is hard,
And man must bow,
As the bee must fly,
In search of nectar,
As the fox must roam,
In search of prey,
And life continues,
And one wonders: Why?

A seed fell on the fertile sod,
And fingers from the seed's pod
Reached down into the earth's core;
I wondered what it was like to be: No more.

Life's full of puzzles
Knowledge of which, we have not,
But, sadly, life's lessons aft forgot.

Life's full of things, one may never know:
Death; love; and, caring;
And the more one lives, the more one knows
That living is only for the daring.

The more one learns,
The more one knows,
That life is hard,
But man must try,
As the bee must fly,
As the fox must roam,
As the seed must fall,
Onto the sod below,
And life goes on,
And one wonders: Why?

A squirrel scampered up a tree,
In search of nuts to eat and store:
Winter's coming and the air grows cold;
Hunger gnaws at entrails, even of the bold.

Life's full of puzzles
Knowledge of which, we have not,
But, sadly, life's lessons aft forgot.

Life's full of things, one may never know:
Puzzles; questions; and, dilemmas.
The more one lives, the more one knows
That living is not for beginners.

The more one learns,
The more one knows,
That life is hard,
And man must think,
As the bee must fly,
And the squirrel must search,
And the seed must fall,
And the fox must roam,
And life goes on,
And one may wonder: Why?

The brook winds round the trees
To find the easiest way to please
All living things: This simple, little deed
For man and his seed.

Life's full of things to feel and see:
Nature's scent is pure mystery.
Feel a woman's arms enclose:
The lover for eternity.

The more one learns,
The more one knows,
That life is loving,
And man must think,
As the bee must fly,
As the fox must roam,
As the lovers must meet
In each other's arms:
Love makes living
Worth the try.

And one knows why,
As the day enfolds,
That there is a scheme,
For young and old:
Two hearts beating;
Two lovers meeting;
Life's for the taking;
Somebody's saying:
'Please, don't sigh!'

Then, he understands: There is no wherefore or why!
