Some Little Thoughts

America !  The  Beautiful !

Oh, America! Kinglike! Magistrate Supreme! World Police Force! Influencer of Nations!
Work to democratize the universe, to place its peoples in your allotted stations.
Teach, cajole then, if needs be such, force the ignorant to love your way of life
With its freedoms, and, where religious strife
Is banned by law, which does decree
That all men may worship any God, say what they will – and be free
To wander from one shore to the next, to talk, to write
To be unafraid of assembly in your sight;
To express themselves within boundaries that you do humbly extol and rave
In the Land of The Free and The Home of The  Brave.

And, if stubborn be aliens of a foreign land,
Whose skin colour is not as grand
As yours, display your standard and your might,
Intimidate first to avoid a fight,
But, if all else fails to win the day,
Take swift action: Do not delay!
Procrastinate not in your determination
To enforce the rules of your nation
On one and all: Black; yellow; good man; and, knave;
Teach them the way of The Land of The Free and The Home of The Brave.

Oh, America! Fear not others’ beliefs, others who may not have your sight,
For you are the strongest of the strong in military might,
And could take the field faster than all
To scourge the earth of those who do not heed your call
To be one with your Christian God:
To drink the milk of a Heavenly world, where the sod
Is red, wherein rests great men of yore,
Who first pronounced the opening of democracy’s door,
Which is, today, immigrants’ ardent desire, wave after wave,
Pray to enter The Land of The Free and The Home of The Brave.

When day is done and the curtain is about to fall,
And men of power remember deeds of pith, and recall
How democracy was brought to a heathen shore;
How thousands of youths died at twenty years of age, or before,
Died for a cause, which was made theirs by Presidential decree,
While America, the beautiful, taught the world to see
How, in a Christian nation, freedom is exemplified by perspicacity and nous,
In your myopic vision of an international house,
Which is restricted to many peoples of the world … save
The good citizens of The Land of The Free and The Home of The Brave.
